We are pleased to inform you that on October 29–30, 2026, an international conference titled “ Border Cultural Heritage: Documentation, Monitoring, Preservation, and Protection ” will be held at the American University of Armenia (Yerevan).
A field visit to Ijevan, Tavush region, is also planned for October 30–31.
The conference is organized by the Interdisciplinary Armenian Cultural Heritage Studies Program, the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, the Centre for the Study of the Christian East at the University of Salzburg, as well as the Austrian and Armenian Blue Shield organizations.
The conference aims to explore the role of cultural heritage in border regions as an essential component of identity, memory, and social structure.
