Architectural Modeling Research Group

The task of the Department is:

  1. To organize the design and sketching of cultural values ​​obtained as a result of excavations.
  2. To ensure that design and drawing works comply with uniform and agreed standards.
  3. To organize visualization (computer processing) of architectural units obtained during excavations.
  4. To conduct experimental modeling of finds obtained during excavations.
  5. The output of the Department is measured by quality scientific publications (monographs, collections, articles), which must be relevant and innovative, using modern methods and laboratory analyses, events participated in and organized (conferences, seminars, etc.), field and laboratory work, effective development of international relations (attraction of foreign resources, access to laboratories, participation in international scientific conferences), personnel inflow, defense of theses, provision of professional opinions.

 


The past and present of the Department

The Architectural Modeling Research Group was established in 2023. Although it is a new unit, it is composed of experienced specialists (headed by Artak Hakhverdyan) who have provided architectural designs and drawings of archaeological structures and objects obtained from excavations for many years. Currently, the group members are working on systematization, (three-dimensional) modeling and scientific validity of previously and currently implemented programs.
