On April 25, the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the NAS RA held a lecture as part of the “Medieval Studies Discussions” seminar series. Archaeologist Arman Nalbandyan delivered the lecture, focusing on the findings from the Dalma Vineyards. According to Nalbandyan, excavations of the Dalma wine press were conducted in 2023 by the Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage. He expressed hope that efforts toward the preservation and public presentation of the wine press would continue. At the end of the lecture, a discussion took place, and attendees asked questions of Mr. Nalbandyan.

On April 17, the Department of Folklore Studies of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography (IAE), within the framework of the IAE’s “Folkloristic Discussions” series, organized a meeting with Tatevik Shakhkulyan—a professor of arts, Komitas expert, and lecturer at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. Shakhkulyan delivered a lecture entitled “Komitas Vardapet as a Specialist in Musical Folklore.” The event was attended by the Director of the IAE, Arsen Bobokhyan, researchers from various departments, and individuals interested in the topic. Deputy Director of the IAE, Tork Dalalyan, introduced the speaker and emphasized the importance of such meetings, noting that this was another collaborative lecture. In her presentation, T. Shakhkulyan discussed Komitas as a musicologist and highlighted his significant role in both Armenian and international musical art. “There is no aspect of folklore that Komitas did not touch upon in one way or another—from the collection work that forms the foundation of folklore, which he pursued throughout his entire conscious life, writing down three to four thousand samples,” she noted. The lecture concluded with a performance of Komitas’ song “The Shepherd’s Dog is Black” («Սև ա չոբանի շունը»).

On April 14, 2025, a seminar of the Artsakh Historical and Cultural Heritage Research Group of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography was held at the IAE, dedicated to the results of archaeological research of the Grigor Lusavorich Monastery Complex in Sos. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Vardges Safaryan, Ph.D.

On April 11, the first seminar of the Architectural Modeling Research Group for 2025 was held at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of RA. Architect Lilit Ter-Minasyan delivered a lecture on the topic “Architectural Parallels of Contemporary Buildings and Tomb Structures.” In her presentation, L. Ter-Minasyan discussed architectural commonalities observed between volumetric (residential, cult), and burial structures.

On April 10, in the reading hall of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the NAS RA, a lecture was held as part of the “Medieval Studies Discussions” seminar series. The lecture, entitled “Tatev Monastery: The Vow of St. Eustatius the Apostle,” was delivered by Dr. Arsen Harutyunyan, Head of the Department of Epigraphy. The event was attended by the Institute’s staff, students, and others interested in the topic. Following the presentation, a discussion took place, and attendees addressed questions to Dr. Arsen Harutyunyan.

On April 8, another seminar of the Ethnography Department was held in the reading hall of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography (IAE) of the NAS of the Republic of Armenia. The lecture, entitled “Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection: International and Local Policies,” was delivered by ethnographer Ruzanna Tsaturyan, a researcher in the same department. The event was attended by Deputy Director of the IAE Tork Dalalyan, Head of the Department of Ethnography Suren Hobosyan, and other researchers. In her lecture, the speaker addressed the 2006 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, with particular emphasis on issues related to the cultural heritage of Artsakh. At the end of the seminar, attendees posed questions to the speaker.
